
This recipe is a no onion, no garlic recipe.
Ingredients

- 500 gms cabbage, washed and sliced lengthwise and thin
- ¼ cup frozen peas
- 1–2 tbsp mustard oil
- 1 tsp salt (to add in the mustard oil to eliminate the mustard odour)
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- Few chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp carrom seeds (ajwain)
- ¼ tsp hing (asafoetida)
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 1–2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 2 tsp Shilpa’s Masala Mill Kashmiri Chilli Powder
- ½ tsp chaat masala
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- ¼ tsp Shilpa’s Masala Mill Garam Masala
- Salt to taste
- 1–2 green chillies
- Coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Cover and cook the chopped tomatoes with a little oil and ginger to make a paste. Keep aside.

- Heat mustard oil with salt until it starts smoking.
- Add cumin seeds and coriander leaves, then switch off the flame.
- Add fennel seeds, ajwain, hing (asafoetida), turmeric powder and cabbage.
- Mix well.
- Switch on the flame again and sauté for 2–3 minutes.
- Add coriander powder, chilli powder, chaat masala, cumin powder, garam masala and salt.
- Add ½ cup of the cooked tomato-ginger paste and green chillies.
- Add peas.

- Fry well for 1–2 minutes.

- Cover and cook on low flame until the cabbage is cooked and oil separates on the surface (you can add a little water if required).
- That’s all, your delicious healthy Patta Gobhi Ki Subji is ready.

Serve hot with rotis and dal rice.
