
A Spicy Maharashtrian Sweet That Helps Fight Colds & Cough
INGREDIENTS

- 1 cup ginger, cleaned and sliced
- 2 cups jaggery (or sugar)
- ½ tsp turmeric (optional)
- ½ tsp nutmeg powder
- Ghee for greasing the tray
INSTRUCTIONS
- Grind together the ginger and jaggery into a smooth paste.

- Heat a pan.
- Add the ginger and jaggery paste.

- Keep the flame on low to medium.
- Stir the mixture continuously until it begins to thicken.
- Add the nutmeg powder and turmeric after 6–7 minutes.
- Reduce the flame to low after about 10 minutes.

- The entire cooking process takes about 15 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a tray or plate greased with ghee.
- Spread it evenly and cut into pieces with a greased knife or pizza cutter before it cools completely.

- Cut into small squares.
- Allow it to cool completely.
- Store in an airtight container.
- Enjoy as a candy or add it to hot tea or warm water.
