
INGREDIENTS

- 1 cup green Moong soaked
- 1 onion sliced
- 1 tomato chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1-2 tsp Red chili powder
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Shilpa’s Masala Mill Garam masala
- 1 tbsp Kasuri Methi
- Pinch of Hing
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 small piece of Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- 1-2 green chilies
- Lemon juice to taste
- Coriander leaves
- 2-3 tbsp Ghee (oil can be substituted)
INSTRUCTIONS

Pressure cook the soaked Moong dal with enough water, salt, turmeric, little onion, and a little tomato. Cool and keep aside.

Heat ghee in a pan.
Add cumin seeds, cinnamon, bay leaf, and hing. Sauté for 1-2 mins.
Add onion.
Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2-3 mins.

Add powdered masalas and continue to fry for 3-4 mins (add little water if masala tends to burn).

Add tomatoes and fry until oil separates on surface and sides.

Add Kasuri Methi and fry for a min.

Add the cooked Moong dal.

Add hot water to adjust dal consistency.
Adjust seasoning.
Add green chilies and cover and cook for 8-10 mins.

Adjust seasoning.

And your easy, nutritious green Moong dal is ready.
Serve garnished with coriander and lemon juice.
