
INGREDIENTS
- ¼-½ kg Suran (yam), cubed and pan-fried
- 1 onion, finely sliced
- ½ onion, chopped
- 1 cup dry coconut, sliced or grated
- 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 3-5 kokum
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1-2 bay leaves
- Oil
- Water
- 2 tsp Shilpa’s Masala Mill Malvani Masala
- ½-1 tsp Shilpa’s Masala Mill Sambhar Masala
INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat a pan.
- Add sliced onion and dry roast for a few minutes.
- Now add 1 tsp oil and continue to roast.
- Add dry coconut and roast until golden brown.


- Add cumin seeds and roast for a minute.
- Cool the mixture and grind it into a fine paste.

- Heat oil in a kadhai.
- Add bay leaf, chopped onions and fry.
- Add ginger-garlic paste.
- Add Malvani Masala and Sambhar Masala and mix well.

- Add the yam and mix well.

- Add water and bring to a boil.
- Add the ground paste.

- Add kokum.
- Add salt and simmer, covered, for 10-12 minutes.
- That’s it, Malvani Suran Chi Aamti is ready.

- Garnish with coriander leaves and enjoy with rice or bhakri.
