
INGREDIENTS

- 1 onion, diced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 3–4 dry red chillies
- 4–5 garlic cloves
- Tamarind
- Salt to taste
- Oil
- Mustard seeds, curry leaves, and split urad dal (for tempering)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan.
- Fry the dry red chillies and tamarind for about 1 minute.
- Add the garlic and onions, and sauté until the onions turn translucent.
- Add the tomatoes, a few curry leaves, and salt.
- Cook until the tomatoes soften completely.


- Allow the mixture to cool completely.
- Grind into a smooth or slightly coarse chutney, as preferred.

- Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl.
- Prepare a tempering with 2 tsp oil, mustard seeds, split urad dal, dried red chillies, and curry leaves.
- Pour the hot tempering over the chutney.

- Your delicious and easy Onion Tomato Chutney is ready to serve.
- Enjoy with dosa, idli, uttapam, vada, or steamed rice.
