Hong Kong Style French Toast

Stuffed with peanut butter and cheese and drizzled with butter and condensed milk, this delicious and unique French toast is popularly served in Cha Chaan Teng (cafe) with a cup of Hong Kong milk tea. Simply scrumptious.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 slices of thick-cut bread

   1-2eggs    1-2 tbsp of cream or milk    1-2 tbsp of peanut butter    1-2 tbsp of condensed milk    1 tsp butter( cut into a small block)    Cheese slice    A drop of vanilla essence (optional)    Pinch of powdered sugar ( optional)    4-5 tbsp of oil for frying       INSTRUCTIONS     Cut the sides of the bread    Put peanut butter on one side of bread ( or both)    Place cheese on one slice of bread

  • 1-2 eggs
  • 1-2 tbsp cream or milk
  • 1-2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1-2 tbsp condensed milk
  • 1 tsp butter (cut into a small block)
  • 1 cheese slice
  • A drop of vanilla essence (optional)
  • Pinch of powdered sugar (optional)
  • 4-5 tbsp oil for frying

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cut the sides of the bread.
  2. Put peanut butter on one side of the bread (or both).
  3. Place cheese on one slice of bread.

   Close sandwich    Beat the egg, cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar in a bowl.

   Transfer this egg mixture to a plate    Heat oil in a pan ( med heat)    Dip the prepared sandwich into the egg mixture. Coat well. Do not soak

   Fry the sandwich in oil (30-40 sec on each side) until light golden brown
